What we offer for Primary Schools
All of our workshops support your work back in the classroom, with local case studies and hands on activities.
They are led by Vicky, our Learning Officer, who has over fifteen years of experience of working with schools in museums

Hands on History Workshops
All of the workshops use the Museum’s handling collection, which contains real and replica objects which really help your pupils connect with your topic.
History Craft Workshops
In these workshops, we use objects from the Museum’s collections as inspiration for a craft project which your pupils take home as a unique souvenir of their visit.
Keep up to date with what is going on at the Museum!
Our usual opening hours are: Tuesday to Fridays, 11am to 5pm and Saturdays, 11am to 4pm.
Please note that regular workshops for schools, families and adults are held in our temporary exhibition area, during which times it may be too busy to view the current exhibition. Please contact us in advance if you would like to know what activities are planned at the Museum for the day of your visit.
