On Wednesday 22nd October, the Museum of Richmond was honoured to have HSH Princess Marie-Therese von Hohenberg, Mrs Anthony Bailey, great-granddaughter of H.I.&R.H. Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria-Hungary officially open the WWI exhibition, 1914-1918 Richmond at Home and at War – Local Stories and their International Links. As a direct descendant of the first public victim of what became known as WWI, the Princess’s speech was a personal reminder of the human impact of war as she discussed her great grandparents’ assassination.
