Support the Museum of Richmond – Be Part of Our Story
The Museum of Richmond brings the borough’s rich and diverse history to life – and we need you to help us keep that story going.
There are many ways you can support the museum and the smallest gift can make a BIG difference to your local community:
🧰 Donate Supplies
From craft materials and archival tools to exhibition equipment, your donated supplies help us deliver creative and engaging experiences for all ages. Whether you’re a business with surplus stock or an individual with something useful to share, your contributions go a long way.
Have something to donate? Contact Vicky, our Learning Officer, on 020 8332 1141 or learning@museumofrichmond.com
We are particularly looking for:
– zips
– sewing thread for sewing machines
– wadding for quilting
– paper bags, of all shapes, sizes and colours for May Half Term
– pretty jam jars, we can use for storage and for vases
🎨 Sponsor a Workshop
Our workshops inspire, bring history alive, and build lasting connections across generations. By sponsoring a session, you’ll help cover materials, staffing, and outreach – ensuring everyone has access to culture and learning.
– £20 would pay for tea, coffee and snacks for our monthly Coffee and Crafting Workshops
– £60 would provide 10 FREE places for children at our family workshops
– £120 would pay for a class of 30 children to have a Hands on History workshop with our Learning Officer
– £150 would pay for a class of 30 children to have a History Craft workshop with our Learning Officer
– £500 would support month of Coffee and Crafting workshops, helping us work with 30 local adults
– £5000 would support the Coffee and Crafting workshops for an entire year
Any support would give our Learning Officer more time to focus on research, development and delivery, instead of fundraising and applying for grants

🌱 Sponsor a Young Person or Volunteer
Our Museum relies on our team of amazing volunteers to keep us open to the public, providing visitors with a warm welcome, and assisting our Curator and Learning Officer with research, development and tasks behind the scenes. We simply couldn’t do what we do without them.
We are incredibly lucky to have fantastic partnerships with local organisations like Richmond upon Thames College, St Mary’s University Twickenham, Royal Holloway University and Mencap to provide work experience placements and internships.
We believe everyone should have the chance to volunteer, but travel and lunch costs can be a barrier — especially for young people affected by the cost of living crisis. Your donation would help to cover these essential expenses, making it possible for more people to get involved, gain skills and experience, and give back to the community.
-£10 would cover a Volunteer or Intern’s travel expenses for a day
– £25 would cover a Volunteer or Intern’s travel and lunch for a day
– £60 would cover the travel of a standard 6 week placement
– £150 would cover the travel and food of a standard 6 week placement
