“Tucked away in the Old Town Hall, The Museum of Richmond is something of a treasure house and I’m very happy to have become its patron. What is a community without its history? I’ve come to love Richmond and here the whole story is not just told but celebrated – from the tenth century through to the present with an array of notable royals, rogues and residents. Every time I visit (entrance is free), I learn something new and I look forward to sharing this experience with everyone who lives in or passes through this wonderful London borough.”

“I am thrilled to announce that I have just become a patron of the Museum of Richmond. Richmond is oozing with history from the Tudors to Ted Lasso with so much in between. Sport is at its heart, literally, with cricket on the Green, a former jousting ground, known to have been played since 1743, and Rugby at Twickenham since 1909. Right now there is a fabulous exhibition about women in several sports who lived in the borough, Trailblazing Women: Richmond’s Sporting Superstars, perfectly timed to celebrate the victory of the Lionesses and the changes for women in all sports as Women’s World Cup Rugby 2025 is soon to be fought over at Twickenham (and other venues). What a great moment to be promoting Richmond’s history and women in sport.”
