Bach, Arnold, Howells, Holst, and Panufnik. Taking place at: Vestry Hall, 21 Paradise Road. Free to Richmond Society members - non-members are welcome for a donation of £1. | | Tuesday, 20th November | 14.00 Exhibition Talk: From Bach to the Beatles Some Reminiscences from Adam Ridley Adam and Annabel Ridley, Richmond residents, sang under Sir David Willcocks in the Bach Choir for many years and toured the world with him and that famous choir. A highlight for them was singing at the Royal Wedding of Charles and Diana. During those 52 years, the choir provided the backing for two highly successful recordings of The Rolling Stones (“Honky Tonk Woman”) and Marianne Faithfull (“Yesterday”) the results of which were not quite as might have been expected and, indeed, cost The Rolling Stones dear! £2 donation welcomed, ticket required. | | Wednesday, 28th November | 18.00 Musicians on Film Season: Shine (1996; certificate 12); (105 mins approx) Based on a true story, this Oscar-winning film tells the story of pianist, David Helfgott who, driven by his father and teachers, has a breakdown.
