Friends of the Museum
Is Richmond special to you? The Friends of the Museum of Richmond are interested in Richmond's history and in the Museum's role in preserving and interpreting our local heritage. They provide volunteers to staff the Museum front desk, shop and exhibition areas, and are actively involved in fundraising. There are also opportunities to work alongside professional staff on exhibitions and a variety of other projects. Become a Friend and meet new friends! Membership
To become a Friend, visit the Museum or send an SAE with a cheque for £7.50 for a year's membership or £75 for Life Membership. It entitles you to:-
- invitations to special private views
- regular copies of The Herald, the Museum's newsletter
- reduced admission to Friends' lectures
- participation in a variety of social events throughout the year, such as the River Cruise, the Garden Party, and the Big Band Blitz.
Caring for the Museum collection
The Friends of the Museum of Richmond have identified conservation as a key area in their support for the Museum, and have contributed generously to the cost of recent projects, including a new shelving system for the Collection Store and a wide range of conservation materials, besides financing exhibition displays.
