Accompanying the Museum’s new exhibition, Alex’s talk will explore the long history of Hounslow Gunpowder Mills, once located in Crane Park, Whitton. Alex will reveal the little known story of one of Europe’s largest and most successful privately run gunpowder mills, its role in the First World War and its slow return to nature after the mills were closed.
