Museum of Richmond

The family learning programme is generously supported by Achieving for Children – Richmond Community Learning Partnership.

The Richmond Community Learning Partnership is committed to providing outstanding adult learning opportunities that are inspiring and will enable individuals to progress and enrich their lives.

To find out more about Community Learning and courses, please visit: www.richmond.gov.uk/community_learning

As this course is funded by central government, the Richmond Community Learning Partnership must ensure all learners are safeguarded by making them more aware of the risks of radicalisation and extremism, compliance with the prevent duty and the promotion of fundamental British values.

The fundamental British values include:

Democracy
Democracy is a system of government in which all the people of a state are involved in making decisions about its affairs, typically by voting to elect representatives to a parliament or similar assembly.
Your opinion counts

The rule of law
All people and institutions are subject to and accountable to law that is fairly applied and enforced.
Laws protect everyone

Individual liberty
Individual liberty suggests the free exercise of rights generally seen as outside Government control.
Freedom of speech

Mutual respect
The proper regard for an individual’s dignity, which is reciprocated.
Having clear expectations and procedures in the learning environment
Being consistent and to model respectful behaviour at all times

Tolerance
Of those with different backgrounds, faiths and beliefs (or those of no faith)
A fair, objective, and permissive attitude to those whose faith and beliefs may differ from one’s own.
All backgrounds and cultures
